Where is Gargi Patel licensed to practice therapy?
Gargi Patel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California, license number 101986, issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. She can see any client who is physically located in California at the time of the session.
Are sessions in person or virtual?
All sessions are virtual and conducted over a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. Clients can attend from anywhere in California — home, office, car, or a private space of their choice.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long, the standard length for psychotherapy.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Frequency can change over time depending on goals and what is being worked on. EMDR and Brainspotting work usually benefits from a consistent weekly cadence during active processing.
How long does therapy take?
Length of therapy varies widely. Some clients work on a specific concern for a few months. Others stay in longer-term work on identity, trauma, or relational patterns for a year or more. Gargi reassesses goals and progress regularly with every client.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations require at least 48 hours notice. Sessions canceled with less notice, or missed sessions, are charged the full fee. This is standard for most California psychotherapy practices.
